Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic, is also a public speaking event organizer. Sarkeesian delivered speeches to the TEDxWomen Festival as well as to the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Inquiring about gender identity and feminism from at an early age, she created her site Feminist Frequency in 2009 while studying at the University. In 2009, the ebullient young lady was harassed by the Internet for starting a web series on gender in videogames.
