
Rosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez on September 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakout moment came with Tina's performance in Do the Right Thing (1989), which was followed by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez was nominated to win the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Fearless (1993). Her film credits that have featured her since include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008) as well as Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her performance in The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has appeared in stage shows on Broadway including The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. In the 18th season, she also co-hosted on ABC's talk show The View. She was a graduate of Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. [11] By 1999 her mother was living in poverty at the Woodside Houses, when she passed away due to AIDS-related issues.
